After a I explained the cartoon to my father (which took a while), he said that it was probably written by some childless city dweller.
Actually, Bruce Erick Kapplan is married and lives in New York City, which from what I understand is a relatively kid-friendly city. Personally, I feel like here on the west coast we asociate city life with "gays and dog people," probably because of the demographics of San Francisco.
It's too bad Claire was such a bitch, becasuse she was an interesting person who grew up in an interesting place.
Uh huh. And my dad met Madonna, and she was eve nice to him. You don't see him telling everyone he knows.
What I found most odd is that the things that may have been interesting, like her trip to Japan last summer, were never the things she talked about. She talked about kids needing preschool becasue her mom said so, and how she thought Daniel V was going to win Project Runway.

Yes, it's too bad Claire was such a bitch for a lot of reasons. I might have felt comfortable in my room and liked my roommate if she hadn't been.
And I think she was just good at pretending she was interesting. I never really found her to actually be such, just acting like it.
