Anaphylaxwhat?

I think I'm allergic to this place. When I was home for the summer, it was strep throat. Now I'm recovering from some horrible vomiting illness (screw doctors!). Santa Cruz, I miss you!

Christmas

I'm having a good few days surrounding Christmas, and the lavendar shampoo from my grandmother that I'm allergic to and the robotic parrot from my mother were outweighted by a few good tops, a small collection and books and CD's, and a palm. Now I've been shopping with my sister and cousins, which is fun.

I really want to go down to San Diego later this weekend, but I'm having a hard time finding a place to stay, since Ron and Alegra want to see me, but can't actually host me or Hannah. I'm hoping Matt can, but I haven't gotten ahold of him. I may go regardless and only spend a day.

Freud-when were you going to be in LA? Hannah and I found a fub hookah bar with a few gay people in Encino...

Hawaii!

I m back in LA from Hawaii, and finally have consistent internet--so my mother is not breathing down my neck to get at it. It's great.

Pictures are posted here

It was a nice trip over all, with its ups and downs. I enjoyed parasailing, but not snorkeling so much. I like being on or near the water, but being in it stresses me out. And my parents kept blaming it on my weight, and talking about it. It's annoying. I know I need to lose weight, and I'd really rather enjoy a vacation without it being the main theme for everyone.
There were lots of gays, though, which was nice (see the one pic I managed to get, and there were man more, some more out than others). I really wished my friends (i.e., you people) had been there with me; it've been more fun. I say we try to find a cheap trip we an all do at some point, perhaps after we all are 21. (Incidentally, my dad kept sharing/buying/getting me alcohol. I drank more than my mother did. He also let me keep one bottle of a Kona coffee flavored porter, which we should share to try.)

Yesterday we got home at 7:30 am, and I slept all day. The in the evening, "Kif" came up and we hung out. Today I went shopping and bought the last few gifts, and some new headphones so I can comfortably listen to music again! Yay!.

Back behind the curtain

In case you're wondering, Britney cost $15.99 and I didn't get home till 3 a.m. And no, I'm not going to explain that.

I'm currently trapped behind the orange curtain. It's not that bad. On Thursday night, my gays all got together to see the midnight (well, technically 11:59) showing of Sweeney Todd, and it was brilliant. I can say with confidence that it's Tim Burton's best film. He's always good with the macabre, but in this movie I really noticed how, underneath the horror and gore, he's just an all-around good filmmaker. He adds these subtle touches that add so much depth to the film. And his casting was spot on. Johnny Depp was fantastic - his singing wasn't Broadway caliber, but it fit his character. You can tell he thinks so much about his characters, down to the little facial ticks and idiosyncrasies. And of course, it featured the best villain in Hollywood, Alan Rickman. It's nice to see him take off the Snape wig.

Anyway, I must cut this short. I've gotta start my pumpkin risotto for Christmas Eve.
